At the core of the book is a radical thesis—algorithms no longer represent reality; they produce it.
In this new “infosphere,” the digital environment doesn’t simply mirror the world but actively redefines what can be thought, felt, and perceived. Power no longer imposes limits through prohibition; it configures the very conditions of cognition and perception.
Human beings now live inside this infosphere, where every gesture, emotion, and decision is translated into data and filtered by algorithms. We are no longer observers of the world but users of ontological interfaces—participants in a mediated simulation of existence designed by unseen systems.
Iorio expands his reflection into the noosphere, the collective field of human thought, drawing on Teilhard de Chardin, Pierre Lévy, and modern Chinese military theories of “cognitive domain” (zhì nǎo quán). Here he introduces the notion of cognitive hacking: not crude propaganda, but the subtle manipulation of informational and perceptual flows capable of reshaping the collective imagination. In this new kind of warfare, information becomes a weapon and attention the most contested territory.
A central concern of the book is the relationship between artificial intelligence, algorithms, and perceptual conditioning. Digital platforms, with their personalized feedback loops and reward systems, induce a state of mild collective hypnosis—an “attentional training” that replaces critical participation with automatic response. The result is a humanity reduced to consumers of simulation, spectators of realities crafted for them by others.
In the second half, Iorio bridges philosophy and science, exploring quantum physics as a framework to question the very nature of the real. If observation itself shapes reality, as thinkers from Heisenberg to Rovelli suggest, then existence is not independent of information. This raises the provocative question:
Do we live in a simulation? And if so, who—or what—controls the code: states, elites, military systems, or decentralized adaptive processes?
Why The "Hasbara" Propaganda Machine

The machinery of this denial stretches from Tel Aviv to Washington. Donald Trump, in his own crude way, revealed what every serious observer already knows: the White House doors swing wide for the Adelsons and their pro-Israel agenda, whether the occupant approves or not. Power, in this new theatre, wears a corporate smile and carries a digital whip.
Leaked emails show how Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison, one of the richest men on earth, has long used his fortune to bend U.S. politics and media in Israel’s favour—funding senators, controlling narratives, and reshaping the architecture of influence. His son now reaches into CBS and CNN. Oracle, meanwhile, controls TikTok’s U.S. algorithm, quietly reprogramming what millions see and think. Ellison has poured hundreds of millions into the Tony Blair Institute, whose “vision” for Gaza reads like a blueprint for a corporate colony wrapped in surveillance. These leaks expose not isolated corruption, but a systemic project: the merging of profit, propaganda, and the colonization of consciousness itself.
Israel’s leaders no longer hide their intent. “The next thing we will do is put restrictions on social media,” declared Yair Golan, former IDF general and Knesset member. “That way they are not allowed to make brutal propaganda.” The inversion is perfect: the occupier calls the occupied “propagandists” as he prepares to control the world’s information stream.
Now the erasure has gone fully digital. Instagram has deleted the verified account of Gaza journalist Saleh al-Jafarawi—4.5 million followers gone overnight—and even the archived versions of his page on the Wayback Machine have vanished. Al-Jafarawi, one of the last independent witnesses to the Gaza genocide, was killed soon after. The timing is grotesque. Writer Susan Abulhawa calls it a “new phase in the effort to wipe evidence of Israeli war crimes from the internet.”
The Committee to Protect Journalists reports that since October 7, 2023, Israel has been responsible for 95% of journalist killings in the Middle East. Three out of every four reporters killed worldwide were Palestinians in Gaza.
Documents reveal how Israel’s state-sponsored ‘hasbara’ campaigns use social media, paid influencers, and military tours to shape the global narrative on Gaza and counter critics.
"And yet, the “big push” to re-legitimize Israel has begun. Western capitals, think tanks, and editorial boards are preparing the grand historical rewrite... “Palestine is real and occupied, and Israel has committed a genocide” is today’s heresy—our modern equivalent of Galileo’s “the earth revolves around the sun.” And like the Church of old, this new one will burn every book, delete every file, censor every heretic who dares speak it. If the Western and Jewish elites succeed in erasing an entire people—in wiping their existence, their memory, their evidence from the global consciousness—then humanity itself is lost. Not because the truth will vanish forever, but because we will have taught our machines, our children, and our souls to prefer simulation over conscience."
